At Wellcome Connecting Science, Isabela facilitates genomics courses in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Her passion lies in fostering scientific collaborations across regions, finding immense value in direct interactions with people worldwide. In addition to the Global Training Programme, Isabela contributed to the Your Digital Mentor Podcast and the SAGESA.africa network, focusing on antimicrobial resistance in Africa. Fluent in Portuguese, French, Spanish, and English, Isabela reflects the goals of the Global Training Programme, assisting in empowering scientists in LMICs and promoting scientific advancement in the Global South. She has a scientific background, having completed her MPhil at the Biochemistry department of the University of Cambridge, and previously worked for the NHS at the microbiology laboratories of the University of Oxford Hospitals.
