Amy has a background in hospitality and higher education. After graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience from the University of Glasgow in 2009, Amy already knew that a scientific career was not for her, and started her career in hospitality in 2010 in the Hilton Hotels chain. After working in hotels for 6 years, Amy made a change to working for the University of Dundee where she was responsible for organising large scale engagement and bespoke fundraising events. Amy joined Wellcome Connecting Science in 2021 as a member of the Learning and Training team, organising courses both onsite and globally and now manages a team of event organisers to deliver our programme of courses and conferences.
